Miles From Nowhere

Updated: Apr 23

McDonald Island Responds to Trump's Tariffs

From the the Great American Songbook - Alternative Version

Lyrics by Steven Mitchell

Music by The Abiding Dude

Miles from nowhere

We go with the flow

Living out on an island

With nowhere to go

It takes two weeks

And only by the sea

To reach our homeland

Untainted by humans, living free

Our island is called McDonald

And our home sits in between

Australia and the Antarctic

How could we have foreseen

Our world is barren

Uninhabited and volcanic

We are penguins, birds and seals

Suddenly thrust into a panic

So far off the beaten path

Yet it’s come to our attention

We must now pay a tariff

It’s beyond our comprehension

I’m just an ordinary bird

A penguin by trade

We have no economic activity

But now a tariff to be paid

Does he think we make burgers here

Who knows what’s in Trump’s brain

We are not that kind of McDonald’s

No Big Macs here, this man totally insane

A waddle of penguins

And a harem of seals

We now have a crazy man

Thinking we do Happy Meals

No where is now safe

For man or beast or fowl

Is our paradise now lost

By a convicted criminal, most foul

Trump calls this Liberation Day

It’s time to fish or cut bait

This penguin is nobody’s fool

With pleasure we will reciprocate
