John & Paul- A Love Story in Songs

Today is Paul McCartney's 83rd birthday. Wow!
Recently saw the Rolling Stones at the New Orleans Jazzfest. Love the Stones. Love Keith Richards. But I don't have anything Stones-related on my walls. This poster has been in my office for more than 25 years. Like many baby boomers, I can remember my family watching the Beatles on their first Ed Sullivan Show appearance, February 9, 1964.
For many Beatles fans, there were two camps. You stuck with either Joihn or Paul, and everyone had their reasons for the preference. Much was based on personality differences and the tyoe of songs each tended to write.
This book, "John & Paul - A Love Story in Songs", is the story of a relationship and collaboration that made the Beatles special, a relationship that started when they first met in 1957. John was 16, and Paul was 15. The Beatles ceased to be an active band in 1970, but despite the breakup and well-publicized acrimony, their personal connection continued through to John's death in 1980.
The narrative is chronological, and each chapter describes the bond between John and Paul through a specific song, describing the time period and the themes that both of them were exploring both individually and as a songwriting team.
